Personal Development Series
Each of the 1.5 hour lunch sessions in this series focuses on specific personal development tools. Participants will learn practical concepts and techniques for next-day implementation. Each of the Lunch-n-Learn sessions includes a box lunch and will be held at the Jackson County Learning Center.
Cost: $35 per 90-minute workshop – including a box lunch.
Jan. 7, 2015 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Time Management provides practical tools, models, and methods to address the frustrations of never having time to complete all of our work and manage our days in an effective and efficient manner. Learn some of the critical strategies in “getting things done” including commitment, persistence and focus, planning, managing priorities and tasks, avoiding procrastination, eliminating distractions, setting goals, and changing your habits.
Feb. 4, 2015 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Planning and Establishing Priorities focuses on the four critical elements necessary to manage priorities. We will explore Goal Tree planning, SMART objectives, basic priority setting tools, and the Urgent / Important Matrix to help focus efforts.
Mar. 4, 2015 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stress Management identifies the sources of stress in your life (including habits, attitudes, and excuses) and presents stress management strategies to effectively avoid and relieve stress, alter stressful situations, employ techniques of adaption, and put yourself in control to live a healthier lifestyle.
Apr. 1, 2015 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Personal Leadership explores the best definitions and attributes of leadership, investigates the five levels of leadership, provides techniques to develop your unique personal leadership skills, and covers continuous improvement thinking to enhance these leadership skills.
May 6, 2015 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Work/Life Balance provides an overview of the drivers of work/life imbalance as well as the consequences of an imbalance in personal and professional settings. We will also cover the key components of work/life balance as a guidepost for personal development.
June 3, 2015 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Improving Memory Skills introduces a variety of newly developed mind methods and exercises to sharpen your mind, enhance memory and learning skills, as well as boost brainpower. The overall objective of this session is to harness the power of your brain to give you an advantage - both personally and profes- sionally.
