Enrollment Certification

Banks, student loan servicers, and guarantors may require certification or verification of your student enrollment before granting loan repayment deferrals, etc.

IUPUC provides enrollment data to the National Student Clearinghouse where these agencies can instantly view and print your student enrollment data. For information about what has been provided to your lenders, please contact:

  • National Student Clearinghouse (NSC)

Other Requests

Verification of your student enrollment may also be required by auto and health insurance companies, apartment rental agencies, and other benefit-granting organizations.

In these cases, please complete a request for certification of enrollment form. Note you must submit this form in person so the Office of Registrar Services can check proof of your identity and prevent Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act  (FERPA) violations.

Once we receive your request, we will send a letter to the requesting agency.

What is Verified & When

Information for verification usually includes the current and/or prior term of enrollment, full-time or part-time enrollment status, expected graduation date, and grade point average (GPA). If applicable, degree status may also be verified.

We certify enrollment at the end of the 100 percent refund period for a particular term, which is usually after the first week of classes. We cannot certify enrollment for a future term, even if you have already registered for classes and paid for that term.

It is important to ensure your anticipated graduation date is always current in the university’s Student Information System (SIS). If your anticipated graduation date changes, contact the registrar's office.
