Biographical Statement

I earned my Ph.D. in Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 2005. Prior to this I completed a 30 plus year career in HR in both public and private organizations, most recently as Corporate Vice-President of Organizational & Leadership Development for a $7 billion global auto parts manufacturer. I teach the senior level undergraduate and MBA courses in Business Policy Strategy, Strategic Human Resources, Leadership, Career Success, and Entrepreneurship.

Research Activities

My research interests include the role of executive search firm relationships in executive career attainment, executive decision making; organizational change, leadership, management development and succession planning, and cultural issues associated with mergers and acquisitions.

Grants

  • 2011 Arvin Gift Fund. Arvin Computational Analysis Simulation and Engineering Laboratory (CASEL) $400,000. Grant I facilitated from the Arvin Gift Fund Committee to support the undergraduate mechanical engineering program at IUPUC. CASEL will be a unique multidisciplinary education and applied research laboratory that will enhance engineering education collaboration and the quality of learning and is directly linked to the BSME program, as well as the Division of Science at IUPUC and IU-CAD in downtown Columbus.
  • 2008 Grant I helped write that resulted in an award by the Lilly Foundation to the Columbus community. I serve as principal investigator and will lead team to develop curricula for sessions/modules/courses in Advanced Manufacturing Management at bachelors, masters, and executive education levels $26,000
  • 2006 Grant I facilitated from the Arvin Gift Fund Committee to renovate space for MBA and executive education, and provide executive education program start-up funding $675,000
