If your career goals include running your own business or managing the business operations of others, a strong background in management and knowledge of management best practices is essential.
IUPUC’s business program includes an 18-credit management focus that will position you for employment in diverse work settings.
Management requires skill in coordinating people, processes, systems, and technology to generate desired outcomes for organizations. As an effective business manager, you should be proficient in supporting and enabling your organization to meet and exceed its strategic priorities, goals, and objectives.
With our concentration in management, you will study the analysis and development of organizational design and change, trends in human resource management and utilization, and best practices in leadership, teamwork, and diversity. You will also study negotiation and motivation strategies for individuals and teams, domestic and international supply chain management, project management concepts and theories, training and development, and more.
Managers are found in every industry and organizations of all sizes, including for-profit and non-profit enterprises.
As an entry-level manager, you will get the skills and experience you need to launch your career. As you progress, you’ll become more proficient in the interpersonal, organizational, and management areas required to work your way to middle management and even achieve executive status. You’ll be required to deliver products and services that are on time, on budget, and on target as it relates to strategic business plans.
Your IUPUC degree will prepare you for careers as an organizational planner, corporate trainer, project scheduler, human resource director, business consultant, general manager in a manufacturing operation, or a small business owner and entrepreneur.
