Biographical Statement

Kathy Essex began her career teaching in the District of Columbia public schools. In 2006, she graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington Schoolof Education with a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. After finishing her Ph.D., she worked as a Research Associate at IUB on three different education-related projects from 2007-2009. In 2009, she began working at IUPUC as a Visiting Assistant Professor for the Division of Education. Starting in 2010, Kathy began as an Assistant Professor in Mathematics and Science Education in the Division of Education at IUPUC.
