Biographical Statement

I am a clinial nurse specialist with over 20 years of experience in treating a variety of psychiatric and mental health conditions including mood, cognitive and behavioral disorders.  I am certified in child and mental health nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  I have been a volunteer with the American Red Cross Disaster services as a mental health specialist since 1996, and have deployed to various national disaster sites including Washington D.C. during the 9/11 attacks and to Baton Rouge for Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  I am a doctoral student in the School of Public Health at Indiana University with research interests in the effects of culture on health behaviors and outcomes.
