Division of Liberal Arts

The humanities can "hold up before the young the best that humans have accomplished over the centuries - the best in selfless service, the best in reflective thought, the best in the creative arts, the best in human wisdom." "The calling of the humanities is to make us truly human in the best sense of that word."

- J. Irwin Miller, 1997

The Division of Liberal Arts at Indiana University - Purdue University Columbus includes American Sign Language, Anthropology, Communication Studies, English, Fine Arts, Folklore, Foreign Languages, Geography, History, Journalism, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, Social Work, and Sociology.
