Computer Engineering *
The objective of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree
curriculum is an in-depth education in the analytical skills, hardware, and
software aspects of modern computer systems. The program builds on a strong
foundation in engineering design, including traditional analog and digital
circuit design. The three main areas of emphasis within the computer-engineering
program are embedded systems, telecommunications and networking, software
engineering, and distributed computing.
This degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission ABET
(Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology).
Special Opportunities
The lessons students learn in classes and laboratories receive the ultimate
test through the cooperative education and internship programs offered by the
university. Through these internships students will meet and interact with
business leaders from leading companies in south central Indiana.
Careers
The computer engineering program is designed to prepare students for careers in
the commercial, government, and academic sectors, where expertise is needed in
hardware and software design, information processing, circuit and electronic
design, control and robotics, communications and signal processing, biomedical
engineering, energy systems, and manufacturing.
Degree Programs
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
Admission as a beginning student into the Purdue engineering program at IUPUC is
determined by a combination of rank in class, test scores, probability of
success, grade average in college preparatory subjects, grades in courses
related to the degree objective, trends in achievement, completion of high
school subject matter requirements, and information provided by your high school
counselor.
Students not admitted directly to engineering may enter IUPUC through University
College while they work toward their goals and meet the requirements for
admission to engineering.
