Computer Engineering *

The objective of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree curriculum is an in-depth education in the analytical skills, hardware, and software aspects of modern computer systems. The program builds on a strong foundation in engineering design, including traditional analog and digital circuit design. The three main areas of emphasis within the computer-engineering program are embedded systems, telecommunications and networking, software engineering, and distributed computing.

This degree is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology).

Special Opportunities

The lessons students learn in classes and laboratories receive the ultimate test through the cooperative education and internship programs offered by the university. Through these internships students will meet and interact with business leaders from leading companies in south central Indiana.

Careers

The computer engineering program is designed to prepare students for careers in the commercial, government, and academic sectors, where expertise is needed in hardware and software design, information processing, circuit and electronic design, control and robotics, communications and signal processing, biomedical engineering, energy systems, and manufacturing.
