Industrial Technology (IT)
The Industrial Technology (IT) program is designed to prepare students in
both technical and management areas. Graduates are best suited for technical
and/or managerial positions in business, industry, and government. Course
work includes production planning, industrial ergonomics and safety, quality
control and productivity, manufacturing facilities planning and material
handling, automated manufacturing systems, automatic identification and data
capture, and computer simulation.
Special Opportunities
The General Option of the B.S. in Industrial Technology is designed to
enable a student with a technical Purdue A.S. degree to continue without
loss of university credit. Consult the Purdue University academic counselor
for how previous coursework may apply toward this B.S. degree. Students with
credit from other institutions should ask about the latest course transfer
and articulation agreements.
Careers
Typical entry-level position titles include industrial engineer,
manufacturing engineer, operations manager, product manager, and quality
assurance engineer.
