Public Affairs *
The Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs provides students with an overview
of the issues that engage the public and nonprofit sectors such as: (1) how
organization and management differ among sectors, (2) the tools required to
solve public problems and undertake leadership roles in the community, and (3)
the policy processes that lead to effective decision-making.
Special Opportunities
Students have the opportunity to participate in internship programs designed for maximum
flexibility so that many valid learning experiences can qualify as internships.
Careers
Public affairs graduates work in the public and nonprofit sectors including
the judicial system, environmental organizations, consulting firms or labs,
law enforcement, management, planning departments, lobbying groups and advocacy
agencies, federal, state and local governments, nonprofit agencies, private
corporations. Many students also choose to continue their education in law,
planning, public affairs, or environmental science.
