Tourism, Conventions, and Event Management *
Tourism, Conventions, and Event Management is the study of administration in the tourism
and hospitality industries, which encompasses components of travel, lodging, food service,
attractions, events and conventions. In the Bachelor of Science degree program, you will
develop communication, decision-making, entrepreneurial, problem solving, organizational,
business operations, persuasive, interpersonal and leadership skills to be able to evaluate
and manage all aspects of a business operation.

Special Opportunities
Tourism, Conventions, and Event Management majors will complete a minimum of 600 hours of work experience in tourism/hospitality in south central Indiana.
Careers
Graduates are qualified to be employed in different segments of the tourism industry including positions in hotel, institutional and club management, marketing and sales, catering, purchasing agent, human resources management, travel and tourism, convention and meeting planning, event management, tourism research, attraction management and sports tourism.
