With guidance from faculty mentors, you can engage in research projects that enable you to translate concepts and theories you learn in the classroom into real-world learning opportunities.
IUPUC faculty are award-winning scholars, researchers, and teachers who are experts in their fields. As a student, you can increase your knowledge, prepare for graduate study, and otherwise benefit by working hand-in-hand with faculty in your degree program—or in multidisciplinary fields related to your degree program—on intensive research projects.
In addition, you can:
- Apply for grant funding through the Office of Student Research
- Present your work at professional conferences, poster sessions, workshops, and seminars
- Help write and be listed as a co-author on peer-reviewed journal articles
- Join professional organizations like the National Student Nurses Association or the National Science Teachers Association that further develop knowledge in specific fields
Our faculty conduct quantitative, qualitative, applied, and other types of research across a broad spectrum of subject areas.
They publish books, contribute to academic research journals, and serve on the editorial boards of publications dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and scholarship. Recognized by local, regional, national, and international media outlets, they pursue research grants that improve the quality of life and help drive economic development throughout the region.
IUPUC faculty scholars collaborate with their peers at Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, and esteemed universities and colleges across the nation and around the world.
