PURPOSE
The IUPUC Early College Program allows high school students to enroll in college courses alongside currently
enrolled college students on the IUPUC campus. Classes are offered mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Juniors
and Seniors may take courses during the two six-week summer semesters in addition to the traditional fall and
spring semesters.
ELIGIBILTY
Acceptance is based upon academic motivation and ability, years completed in high school and academic success.
Students should be enrolled in the Core 40 curriculum or above, with Juniors ranked in the upper 20% of their class
and Seniors in the upper 30% of their class. Students should have a PSAT score of 95 or above, SAT 1000 (Math and
Critical Reasoning) or above or ACT score of at least 21.
Qualified students may be able to earn dual credits for both high school and college at the same time. Students earn
full college credit from IU that is transferable to colleges and universities across the nation and around the world.
TUITION
Students pay Indiana University tuition (approximately $622.00 for a three credit hour class). Scholarships of $300.00
may be awarded to those who qualify based on exceptional class rank and test scores (PSAT, SAT or ACT). There is no need
to apply separately for the scholarship; all students are considered for the scholarship and will be notified by mail if
they are going to be awarded a scholarship.
BENEFITS
Students enrolled in college courses at IUPUC meet one-on-one with an advisor or career counselor, explore 100- and
200- level college courses, and interact with knowledgeable faculty with world-class credentials. Some students use these
early college credits to help them graduate from college early, others to allow them to add a second major or minor, or to
have more time for internships, overseas study or part-time work experience.
HOW TO APPLY
Students interested in the Early College Program should apply several weeks prior to the beginning of the semester by
using the application available on this website. The application must be signed by a guidance counselor or principal and
mailed to IUPUC. A transcript must be included with the application. Home schooled students are welcome to apply.
