Disclosure Policy for Criminal Activity

IUPUC is committed to maintaining a safe environment for the university community.

When you apply for admission to IUPUC, a mandatory part of the process includes that you disclose in writing whether you have been:

  1. Convicted of any felony or a misdemeanor such as battery or other convictions for behavior that resulted in injury to a person(s) or personal property and/or
  2. Subject to formal disciplinary action at other college or universities you have previously attended

Previous conviction(s) or previous college disciplinary action(s) do not automatically bar you from being admitted to IUPUC.

What to Include in Your Disclosure

Criminal Convictions

Your disclosure should include a brief explanation of the incident, the location (city, state, country) where you were convicted, date of conviction, and copies of court dispositions in English. Your statement should also include your express permission for IUPUC to access your entire criminal history and records, if any.

Disciplinary Action

If you have been disciplined while attending another college or university, your disclosure should include a brief explanation of the incident, the location and name of institution where the action took place, dates, and disposition of the case. Your statement should also include your express permission for IUPUC to access your entire student record(s), if any, at the institution(s).
