Awards
A job well done is a reward itself, right? But we think it’s nice to be recognized anyway.
Student achievements in the General Studies Degree program are honored in a number of ways.
School of Continuing Studies IUPUC Dean’s List Spring 2009
Each semester the top 10% of general studies majors who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit
hours and have a minimum 3.7 semester GPA are included on the IUPUC Dean’s List.

IU School of Continuing Studies Dean’s List
To be chosen for the all-IU SCS Dean’s List a student must have
- completed 12 credit hours of graded course work after admission to SCS during the prior academic year (September 1 to August 31) and
- earned a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for applicable credit hours. If you are a part-time student, we include all course work you completed during the prior academic year (from September 1 to August 31) in tabulating the GPA. If you are a full-time student, we consider one semester (or both summer sessions) in which you completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in tabulating the GPA.
Congratulations to the students who are on the
IU SCS Dean’s List!
IUPUC School of Continuing Studies Outstanding Graduate Award
Each spring at the annual IUPUC Honors Convocation an award is given recognizing the outstanding
performance of a student graduating from IUPUC with a degree in General Studies.
Graduation with Honors
We recognize outstanding performance in course work by awarding degrees with three levels of
distinction: distinction, high distinction, and highest distinction.
To graduate with distinction you need to have successfully completed 60 graded IU credit hours
and be in the top 10% of all students graduating from IUPUC in a given semester.
It’s easy to spot a graduate with honors by the honor cords draped from the shoulder of the graduation gown.
