Semester-based Online Self-Study
Semester-based Online Self-Study (SOS) courses are offered by the School of Continuing
Studies in partnership with IUPUC.
These courses benefit students who need to build flexibility into their schedule, stay
on track for graduation, or get that "one extra course" for the coming semester. They
are especially useful for students who have a full work schedule or other responsibilities
that prevent them from coming to campus frequently.
In SOS courses students work independently to complete and submit course assignments online.
An instructor will answer questions and provide feedback, but there are no class lectures or
other formal instruction. Students must come to campus to complete mid-term and final exams
for these courses. You need to be super organized and highly motivated to be successful in
an SOS course.
