TRANSFERABLITY AGREEMENT

between

INDIANA UNIVERSITY- PURDUE UNIVERSITY COLUMBUS

and

IVY TECH STATE COLLEGE - COLUMBUS

for the transfer of the

ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTING

into the

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS

 

The Business Program articulation agreement contained herein follows the review of programs and courses within the relevant business programs by business and related faculty at Ivy Tech State College - Columbus (Ivy Tech) and Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC).

 

Effective Fall 2004, students completing the Associate of Science in Accounting at Ivy Tech, following the prescribed transfer degree curriculum indicated below, are eligible to apply for admission to the IUPUC Division of Business under Option II, with the understanding that they have completed the required pre-business coursework with at least the minimum grades stipulated in the IUPUC application to the Bachelor of Science in Business program.  The following Ivy Tech courses will be designated as part of the transfer program.

 

Ivy Tech students earning the AS in Accounting will receive 60 credits in transfer to the IU BS in Business degree program at IUPUC, as follows.

Two three-credit-hour courses in humanities or social sciences and

two three-credit hour courses in life or physical science courses. Students

are encouraged to select general education courses that are part of the

course-to-course articulation agreement that exists between Ivy Tech and

IUPUC, so that they may be assured that these courses will meet degree

requirements at IUPUC. 

 

Grades lower than C will not transfer.

 

Remaining Coursework for BS

        

Transfer students will typically complete the following Business courses after being accepted into the IU Bachelor of Science in Business degree program at IUPUC:

BUS F301       Financial Management

BUS M301      Marketing Management

BUS P301       Operations Management

BUS Z302       Managing and Behavior in Organizations

BUS J401        Administrative Systems

BUS X420       Business Career Planning and Placement

D301 and D302  or alternative courses to meet International Dimension

 

In addition, students will complete 24 credit hours of Concentration Requirements; specific courses to be determined with the approval of an advisor.

 

Students will also take additional general education courses as needed to reach a minimum of 62 credit hours of general education courses. 

 

 

 

Previous Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science Degree Holders

 

The previous agreement between Ivy Tech and IUPUC, effective in 1998, which stipulated articulation for students completing the Associate of Science or the Associate of Applied Science in Accounting and Accounting Technology and the Associate of Science in Business Administration, remains in effect for students who have not completed this transfer program.

 

Students completing an Associate of Science or an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting or Accounting Technology or an Associate of Science in Business Administration at Ivy Tech State College - Columbus, will be accepted with junior standing at IUPUC, ready for application for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Business program, if they have completed MATH M118, MATH M119, ECON E201, ECON E202, and ECON E270.  Minimum grades must have been attained as specified in the application for admission.

 

This agreement will be reviewed annually for possible modifications. While all parties to this agreement understand its purpose is to maximize opportunities for individual students, they also recognize that limits may be placed on courses accepted under provisions of this agreement should the student subsequently decide to change to a program other than that covered by this agreement.
