and

for the transfer of the

BACHELOR OF GENERAL STUDIES

This document will serve as an agreement by Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) to accept students who graduate from Ivy Tech State College - Columbus (Ivy Tech) with an Associate of Science in General Studies at the junior level into the Bachelor of General Studies program at IUPUC.  Technical credits will be distributed to the maximum allowable (30 credits) to satisfy elective credit.  Articulated general education credits will be distributed to meet the required arts and sciences requirements of the Bachelor of General Studies degree.  In addition to the above defined credit transfer, each student’s transcript will be reviewed on an individual basis for possible additional transfer credit to the Bachelor of General Studies degree.

1.      Ivy Tech students earning the AS degree will receive approximately (but not limited to) 57-60 credits in transfer to the IUPUC BGS degree program.

2.      Ivy Tech students earning the AAS degree will receive approximately (but not limited to) 45 credit hours in transfer to the IUPUC BGS degree program.

3.      Earned technical/program credits at ITSC, Region 10, will transfer to the BGS degree elective credits (to the maximum of 30 credit hours).  This transfer is not dependent on the completion of an Ivy Tech degree.

4.      Other earned Ivy Tech credits that are not covered in the above transfer may be transferred to the BGS degree program based on the Course to Course Agreement between the institutions.

This agreement will be reviewed annually for possible modifications. While all parties to this agreement understand its purpose is to maximize opportunities for individual students, they also recognize that limits may be placed on courses accepted under the provisions of this agreement should the student subsequently decide to change to a program other than that covered by this agreement.
