Student Affairs
Students have concerns beyond the classroom. This list of topics touches a range of personal
and campus policy issues that may have a significant impact on the success of your academic
career. Click on any of these hyperlinks to quickly find a topic of interest further

Updating Your Information
All IU campuses share a large online database (Student Information System) to handle academic
records. You will benefit when helping the Registrar keep your data up to date by reporting
changes as they happen.
Contact Information
Change your name in person at the service window of the Office of the Registrar. You can change address or
telephone numbers that way too, or do it yourself online via OneStart.
Plan of Study
The Registrar has paper forms for reporting a change in your Division (also called “program”) with approval
from the new division. On the same form, you can change your “plan” of study – the particular area of
concentration and/or degree you are seeking.
University Email
In many cases, official university e-mail is the only way you can get important information about such
things as class cancellations, class location changes, intercampus transfer acknowledgement, and instructor
notices. Need to make changes to your account set up? Go to the
IU Account Management Service site.
Health Topics
By the end of the first semester of attendance, all students should have read and acknowledged an online
statement about
Immunization Compliance. Enrollment is blocked for the
second semester until this is accomplished.
Students may voluntarily choose to sign up for a
health benefit plan offered
through Indiana University.
FERPA
Student records are protected by federal law. Read this summary of the
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
to understand why and how IUPUC must control access, confidentiality, and disclosure of student records.
Rights and Responsibilities
See how the
Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct identifies the basic rights,
responsibilities, and expectations of all students and student groups by serving as a guide for
the overall student experience at IUPUC.
Academic Misconduct
To foster the best learning environment, both students and faculty must meet certain performance
expectations. These are explained in the IU Policy on Scholastic Activities. Click here to read the
definitions of
Academic Misconduct associated with activities that undermine the learning environment.
Residency Status
Student residency status affects the amount of tuition fees paid. If a student is not considered a
resident of Indiana, the fees are higher. There are two helpful documents that explain this topic:
the
Rules for Determining Residency Status, and
Residence Classification FAQs.
Religious Holidays
IUPUC respects the right of all students to observe their
religious holidays and will make reasonable
accommodation, upon
request, for such observances. Click here for the full
IUPUC Policy on Religious Holidays.
