Mission Statement

The University College Academic Advising team at IUPUC promotes a collaborative relationship between advisors and students where students are empowered to be active participants in reaching their short and long term academic goals.

Academic Advisors assist students in making a successful transition to university life while preparing them for admission to an academic division.

Our commitment to this mission is demonstrated by the following activities:
  • Inform students about IUPUC degree programs
  • Introduce and refer students to the resources, technology, services, and support systems of the university
  • Plan, implement and conduct orientation programs for beginning students
  • Assist students in planning appropriate course schedules
  • Monitor the progress of students on academic probation by developing plans that lead to academic good standing
  • Participate as instructional team members in First-Year Seminar Courses
The academic advising team performs the above activities, as well as other initiatives and programs in conjunction with faculty, in support of student retention.
