I have been a registered nurse for 33 years and have spent the majority of my career at the bedside caring for pediatric patients. I have been teaching in the higher education area since 2005, which was a long-term goal of mine. I have been at IUPUC since 2007 in the Division of Nursing. My master’s degree is in Community Health which covers the care of persons in the community throughout the life span. I am also privileged to teach nursing students about the specialty of pediatrics. I am presently focusing my doctoral research in the area of the Baby Friendly Initiative, which is a World Health Organization initiative to increase duration of breastfeeding rates.
