Student Records Retention

Administrative staff, instructors, and advisors often ask "how long should I keep this file?" The answer depends upon the file subject matter and who is responsible for maintaining files of that nature. Several years ago, a schedule of disposition was established by the IUPUI Office of the Registrar and the IUPUI Special Collections and Archives office. They based their decisions on suggestions from AACRAO (the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers).

We Follow the IUPUI Plan

Records for IUPUC students are kept in accordance with the same Student Records Retention Schedule published by IUPUI.
