Summer success

The promise of a lifetime of success

The Summer Success is a free program that helps first-year IUPUC students improve their math placement score, which could eliminate the need for remedial math courses, thus saving both time and money.

Math programming will include:

  • Access to the online ALEKS learning platform where students will have the opportunity to practice algebra skills
  • A math instructor who will provide face-to-face instruction in a small group setting on key algebra topics as well as help students with note taking and study skills
  • A student math mentor who will assist with practice problems and provide insight into how to succeed in a college math course

Summer Success-June 26-July 14, 2017

  • Morning session: 9 a.m. to noon | Monday-Friday
  • Afternoon session: 1 to 4 p.m. | Monday-Friday

Another option

We highly recommend enrolling in the summer sessions, however, if you cannot make it to the summer sessions, you can enroll in UCOL-U 112, which is a one-credit hour course offered during the spring and fall semesters. If you enroll in UCOL-U 112, your class will meet one day a week for the first 8 weeks of the semester. This class meets in a computer lab to practice algebra skills, using the online ALEKS learning platform.  A math instructor will be available during each class session to answer questions, provide assistance with note-taking, and offer suggestions for study techniques.
