Jay Howard

Dr. Jay Howard served as interim vice chancellor and dean at IUPUC from 2006-09. This award was established by IUPUC’s Board of Advisors in recognition of Dr. Howard’s contributions to the community and the university and for serving the university with excellence and distinction.

The $500 Jay Howard Scholarship supports IUPUC students who are majoring or minoring in sociology.

Eligibility

To be considered for this $500 award, you must:
  • Be a degree-seeking undergraduate student at IUPUC majoring or minoring in sociology
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours each semester during which support is received
  • Write a 500-word essay describing your contributions to the IUPUC campus and/or the local community

Application Process

Online applications are available starting December 1 and are due March 10.

  • Applicants must be admitted and enrolled to apply
  • Applications are available December 1 in One.
  • Sign into One.iu.edu with your IU Network ID FIRST 
  • Search for "Scholarships" (select "scholarships task")
  • Confirm you have attached all of the documents you are required to submit for the Jay Howard scholarship if you wish to be considered
