About Education

Our mission

We strive to improve teaching, learning, and human development in a diverse, rapidly changing, and increasingly multicultural and technological society. We prepare reflective, caring, and highly skilled educators and scholars who are committed to social justice and equity, participate in dialogue and inquiry into school change, and partner with key stakeholders to improve teaching and learning at the local, national, and international levels.

Education faculty and staff

Our faculty and staff have expertise in social diversity inclusion, equity, social justice, critical theories, civic engagement, new literacies, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), youth and community-based research and practice, mathematical reasoning, and scientific discovery.
