Biographical Statement

I have lived and worked in Columbus, IN my entire life.  I taught second grade at St. Bartholomew School for 11 years.  This position allowed me to persue my love of children, teaching and to grow personally and professionally.  While teaching, I obtained my Masters degree in School Counseling.  My professional goals then led me into mental health where I worked as a case manager and life skills trainer at Centerstone, a behavioral mental health center.  During my time there, I began persuing my Mental Health Counseling License and became a therapist at Centerstone working with children and families.  While reflecting on my own professional experiences, I realized that working with others to achieve their own goals and to help someone reach their full potential is something that I am passionate about.  As an Academic Advisor at IUPUC, I assist and collaborate with students so they can reach their goals and achieve their own successes.
