Mentor Program

What is it?

The Mentoring Program is designed to assist first-year scholars with their transition into the IU Columbus community. The program provides 21st Century Scholar students with an upper-classman mentor.

Our mentors help students navigate the system of higher education by sharing information, providing guidance, and connecting students to all of the available campus and community resources that will help to ensure their timely degree completion. Participating scholars will have the opportunity to meet mentors in group settings and one-on-one based on the availability of the mentor and the participating scholar's schedules.

This initiative aims to help first-year 21st Century Scholars transition to college with all of the tools they need for success. Peer mentoring provides new students with a friend and support as they transition to a novel and sometimes overwhelming environment.
