The Tom & Barbara Schoellkopf Community Counseling Center provides services to students enrolled at IU Columbus, IvyTech Community College Columbus, and Purdue Polytechnic Columbus. Other individuals living in Columbus, Bartholomew County, and surrounding south central Indiana communities are also welcome.

As a training clinic, we carefully screen our clients to be sure we can provide appropriate care. We are typically able to help with the following issues:

  • Anxiety & depression
  • Relationship concerns
  • Grief issues
  • Difficulties adjusting to life changes
  • Parenting challenges
  • Career and educational decision making
  • Life skills including:
    • Preventive & Remedial Stress Management
    • Balancing Life & Work Roles
    • Performance-related Issues (Writing, Math, Speech, Athletics, & the Arts)

Don’t see your concern on the list? Just ask us!

Under certain circumstances, such as court ordered treatment, serious substance abuse, current thoughts of self harm or harm to others, or serious chronic mental health problems we will refer you to other, more appropriate providers. We do not offer medication or case management services.

As a training clinic, all services at the Schoellkopf Center are recorded and/or observed by licensed clinicians, practicum students, and/or student interns for training purposes.

Students and community members willing to receive services in a training  environment are welcome to request services.
