Guest lecture with authors of “The American Slave Coast: A History of the Slave-Breeding Industry”

In recognition of Constitution Day, the IUPUC campus will host a lecture with authors Constance and Ned Sublette, “The American Slave Coast: A History of the Slave-Breeding Industry,” on Thursday, Sept. 22 at noon in the Summerville Room at the Columbus Learning Center. The U.S. Constitution addressed issues associated with slave trade in Article 1, Section 9.

The public is invited to bring a brown bag lunch and engage in a question and answer session with the authors following the lecture.

“The American Slave Coast: A History of the Slave-Breeding Industry” was a 2016 American Book Award winner. This award is administered by the Before Columbus Foundation and recognized literary excellence without limitations or restrictions and is bestowed by other writers.
