Jennings to step down as IUPUC executive director of enrollment management

January 18, 2017

Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) Executive Director of Enrollment Management Denise Jennings announced today that she will step down from her current role to become Regional Director of Academic Advising for Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.

Jennings joined IUPUC in 2006 as an academic advisor for the Division of Education. During that time she successfully managed the data set that supported the division’s accreditation with NCATE. She was promoted to Director of the Office of Registrar Services and named the Executive Director of Enrollment Management in 2013. Under her leadership, the campus reached its largest enrollment of 1,783 in 2014.

“IUPUC has been an amazing place to be the last 10 years,” said Jennings. “It has been an honor to be a part of a campus that has worked hard to develop the kinds of opportunities that we can now offer our students. The faculty, staff, and students have been an amazing part of this journey and I am blessed to have been given an opportunity to be mentored by and work with some amazing professionals in higher education. I look forward to a ‘return to my roots’, in that I will be working to support academic advisors regionally within the ITCC system.”

Jennings received a bachelor of arts in chemistry and psychology and a masters of science in counseling and counselor education from Indiana University. She will remain on the IUPUC campus through Tuesday, January 31.

Vice Chancellor and Dean Reinhold Hill will appoint an interim executive director in the coming weeks while IUPUC conducts a national search to fill this important campus role.

“I am grateful for Denise Jenning’s professionalism and hard work,” said Hill.  “She has established a short-range strategic enrollment plan that will help us during our transition.  Denise has been a valuable member of the leadership team at IUPUC and I am certain she will make many valuable contributions to Ivy Tech in her new role.”
