The first annual Conference for Undergraduate Research in Psychology (CURP) will take place in November at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC). All faculty, staff, students and the public are welcomed to register via the IUPUC website. The conference is sponsored by IUPUC’s Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling program and the Office of Student Research.

This all-day conference will allow, regional undergraduate psychology students to display their research projects consisting of oral and poster presentations. The presentations will be judged, and winners will be announced at the end of the conference. Furthermore, student researchers will have an opportunity to network with successful professionals, exchange ideas with other students and faculty, and learn about applying to graduate programs.

Students interested in presenting their completed or in-progress research project have until October 15 to submit a proposal.

“Presenting your undergraduate research in psychology can be a helpful experience, whether you are entering the world of work or continuing with graduate study. Research conferences like CURP can refine communication skills, foster a sense of self-efficacy in research, and provide invaluable opportunities for networking,” shares faculty sponsor, Dr. Darrin Carr.

The 2017 conference will take place at the Columbus Learning Center, next to IUPUC, on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
