IU Alumni Association South Central Region to Host “Bicycle Boogie” on Saturday, October 5th

If you love the outdoors and pedaling through spectacular scenery, come experience Bartholomew and Brown counties as only the locals get to enjoy them at “Bicycle Boogie” on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Hosted by the Indiana University Alumni Association South Central Region, proceeds from the event will help fund the IUPUC Alumni Association Scholarship which supports students pursuing an Indiana University or Purdue University degree at IUPUC.

Choose Your Distance

Boogie west through great autumn-colored sites like Pikes Peak, Bellesville, around Harrison Lake, and Columbus Youth Camp. Wind through Mill Race Park and tour through the city of Columbus. Catch of glimpse or stop and experience fascinating art and design of Exhibit Columbus installations. Each ride offers unique sites to see and experience.

There are three routes available to riders including a leisurely 12-mile “Family Boogie” scenic tour that meanders along the Columbus People Trails system.

For the more adventurous, we offer an invigorating 30-mile scenic tour of Columbus and Bartholomew County that stops at Upland Pumphouse where you can choose to stop for some food and brew.

The ultimate 55-mile Boogie Tour offers an unforgettable ride through the hills of Bartholomew and Brown Counties. Stop at the famous Story Inn if you need lunch for the energy to boogie back. The courses are all designed with your safe cycling in mind.

The Start / Finish Line

Your Boogie adventure begins and ends at the Columbus Learning Center located on the IUPUC campus, north of town near the airport.

Registered riders should plan arrive at the Columbus Learning Center between 8 - 10 a.m. on October 5 to start their rides. You can get your morning started with a piping hot cup of coffee, pastries, fruit and granola bars.
