As students and faculty are getting ready for Aug. 21, the first day of fall semester 2023, the Student Affairs team is busy preparing a week full of fun and welcoming activities.

“We’re so excited to welcome students to their 2023-2024 school year,” said Shelley Arroyo, IUPUC Assistant Director of Student Affairs. “Grab your friends and classmates and come over and see us. We have lots of fun activities, free food and swag giveaways ready for you!”

Welcome Wednesday

Welcome Wednesday is Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Main Street in the Columbus Learning Center. This is a great place to talk with your advisor, join a club and enjoy some free food. Incoming freshmen can meet their Peer Mentors, as well as to find their classrooms before their first day.

Welcome Wednesday also features the Crimson Pride Walk, a parade around campus, at 12:30 p.m.

Welcome Week

Pancakes make everything better! Start your first day of classes with a pancake breakfast at the Landing from 9-10:30 a.m.

Then on Tuesday of Welcome Week, Aug. 22, have lunch on us. Tour De Pizza lets you sample a variety of slices from Columbus’ best pizzerias. Do a side-by-side taste test and vote for your favorite, noon to 2 p.m., at the Landing.

On Aug. 22 there’s also a blood drive in the CLC, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reserve your spot here.

Wednesday, Aug. 23, is Crimson Pride Day. We’ll have desserts and free shirts, 1-2:30 p.m. in the Landing. Come decked out in your IUPUC spirit wear.

Thursday afternoon is the big event: The Big Red Blowout, Noon until 3 p.m. on the lawn, with lots of booths, food, a kickball game, and swag giveaways. Bring your family!
