IU Board of Trustees approves promotion of two faculty members.

The Indiana University Board of Trustees approved promotions and/or tenure for two Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) faculty members.

To achieve this honor, faculty are evaluated on their record of achievement over the course of their academic career.

Dr. Kimdy Le was granted tenure and promoted to the associate professor rank.

Dr. Gary Felsten was promoted to the full professor rank, which is the highest level of advancement in academia.

Dr. Wafa, vice chancellor and dean of IUPUC, congratulated both faculty members who earned promotions. “It’s wonderful to see continued successes of our faculty year after year,” he said.  

Le, associate professor of psychology, focuses his research on the associations between personality and outcomes in the real world. He earned his bachelor’s degree in cognitive science from University of California Irvine, and his master’s degree and Ph.D. in from Michigan State University in psychology and personality psychology respectively.

Felsten, associate dean for academic affairs and professor of psychology, studies relationships between personality, stress, coping, and physical and psychological well-being. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Cornell University, and his master’s degree and Ph.D. in psychology from Purdue University.
